Ethel Viola Moree

February 16, 1922 — December 25, 2021

Ethel Viola Moree (Morrison) born on February 16, 1922 passed away peacefully on December 25th, 2021 at the age of 99. She was preceded in death by her husband Jewel Clay Moree and oldest daughter Dora Gay Wright. Born in Powderly, Texas. Ethel was one of nine children and the daughter of Dyer Leonard Morrison and Gaynor Elizabeth Morrison ( Oakleaf).  Ethel was a Christian wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.

She resided in Athens, Texas. She loved going to church, reading her Bible and she always loved to be surrounded by her kids and grandkids. When her children were younger and in school, she would make clothing for all of them. She was an amazing seamstress, homemaker and caregiver.

She is survived by son Richard Michael Moree and wife Charlotte of Larue, Texas; daughter, Wanda Darlene Moree of Athens, Texas; son, J.C. Moree and wife Denise of Midlothian, Texas; daughter, Jeannie Kay Shaffer and husband Tom of Larue, Texas. Grandchildren, Karen Wright Walling of Dallas Texas; Holly Wright James and husband Kelly of Mesquite, Texas; Bryan Moree and wife Christine of Plano, Texas; Jordan Moree and wife
Brittany of Waxahachie, Texas; Kailey Moree Webster and husband James of Midlothian, Texas; Cortney Middleton Clark and husband Daniel of Cleveland, Texas; and Marcus Payne and wife Vanessa of Mansfield, Texas; Great Grandchildren-Aaron Hernandez of Grapevine, Texas; Brittany Hernandez Castro and husband Andres of Murphy, Texas; Jackson & Taylor Moree, Hannah James Cole and husband DeMarcus, Kaylee James; Caitlin, Elijah, Josylin & Brooklin Clark, Ali & Kennedy Payne and Jagger Moree Great, Great Grandchildren-Ava & Elijah Castro and Deagan Hernandez.


Visitation will be held at New Hope Funeral Home located at 500 East Hwy 80, Sunnyvale, Texas 75182 on December 30th, 2021 at 10:00am followed by a memorial service at 11:00am. Graveside service will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens.
