Eugene Christopher Bueno Sr., a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, at the age of 52. Born on September 15, 1972, in Los Angeles, California, Eugene made his mark not only in his professional life but also in the hearts of those who knew him. He resided in Forney, Texas, where he cultivated a life rich in connection, celebration, and love for his family.
Eugene proudly served in the United States Navy, enlisting on September 15, 1992, and achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer (Engineman) E7 before his discharge on September 30, 2013. His military career was marked by honor and dedication, highlighted by his participation in Operations Allied Force, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. He was decorated with numerous medals, including the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Iraq Campaign Medal, among others. Eugene was not just a serviceman; he was a skilled leader and mentor to his peers and subordinates.
After his military service, Eugene transitioned to a successful civilian career in engineering, culminating as the Director of Engineering at Sunwest Real Estate Group. Throughout his career, he remained committed to excellence in his field, bringing innovation and integrity to every role he undertook.
Eugene's life was rich with interests that showcased his vibrant personality. He successfully balanced work with a myriad of hobbies: DJ'ing to spread joy through music, fishing for relaxation, and grilling to create lasting memories with family and friends. He was known for his love of dancing, collecting coins and records, and a passion for movies. His eclectic taste in music was matched only by his talent for telling dad jokes that brought laughter to gatherings, and he often enjoyed playing games like Clash of Clans and Yahoo Pool. Most importantly, Eugene cherished every moment spent with his family.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Yvonne Bueno, and his children: Juan, Eugene III (Ahena)., Yulissa, Ashley (Aaron), Rebecca (Hipolito), Lauren, and Victoria. Eugene is also survived by his loving mother, Suzanne Bueno; sisters, Regina Contreras (Eddie), Jena Bueno (Juan), Sally Vargas; brothers, Michael Bueno (Sonia), William Vargas, Michael Vargas (Monique); and many other relatives who adored him, including his sisters-in-law, Jovanna Rocha, Mayra Hinojosa; mother-in-law, Hermila Zarazua; father-in-law, Juan Zarazua; grandchildren, Zoe, Izabella, Christian, Joshua, Camila, Violet, Ace, Jeremiah, Mckenzie, David, Jayden; nieces and nephews; and a multitude of family members whose lives were touched by his kindness and laughter.
In celebration of Eugene's extraordinary life, a visitation will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel in Sunnyvale, TX on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 PM, to include a poignant Rosary at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Terrell, TX on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM, where we will honor his legacy and remember the joy he brought to our lives.
Eugene "Gino" Bueno Sr. will be deeply missed. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will forever celebrate the warmth, laughter, and love he shared with all. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
