Frank Eugene Brooks

Frank Brooks passed away on February 8, 2022, in Rockwall, TX at the age of 85.

Frank Brooks was born on December 3, 1936 in Heath, TX to Carl and Gladys Brooks.

He attended school in Heath and Rockwall and graduated from Rockwall High School in 1955.

As a teenager Frank spent many summers at Christian Youth Encampment in southern

Louisiana. There, a young lady from central Louisiana, Dixie Fontenot, caught his eye. In 1956 a two year courtship began, which led to their marriage on April 5, 1958 in Alexandria, LA. They were blessed with three daughters, Angie, Sonya and Celeste.

Frank earned a B.A.degree from Southeastern Louisiana State University and a M.Ed. degree from East Texas State University. His career in education began in 1961 with Rockwall ISD.

In 1963 he moved to Mesquite ISD where he spent 28 years as a teacher and elementary school principal. He retired from public education in 1992, but he certainly didn't retire from life. Retirement for Frank meant long days at the family farm in Quinlan, Texas, gardening at his home in Forney and attending his grandkids' sporting events. Perhaps the only time people would have avoided Frank was during a seasonal bumper crop of tomatoes.

Frank and Dixie also enjoyed traveling the world with family and friends. From overseas adventures to local golf trips with their church friends, they enjoyed life to the fullest.

Frank was pleased to find other golf enthusiasts at church. One of his greatest joys in retirement was playing golf with his buddies in Forney. His Sunday school class at FBCF meant the world to him. He loved Jesus, his family and his church friends.

Frank is survived by his wife Dixie Brooks, daughters Angie Hargrave and husband Brant of North Richland Hills, daughter Sonya Hervey and husband Terry of Mesquite and daughter Celeste Justice and husband Rick of Brownwood. Sister Dorothy Crockett of Clifton, TX. Nephew Colby Crockett and family. Grandchildren; Lorna.Trey, Wesley, Joseph, Callie, Hunter, Erica, Nathan, Joel and Hannah, and their spouses and 13 great-grandkids.

Frank is preceded in death by his father Carl Brooks, his mother Gladys Brooks, brother-in-law David Crockett and great-granddaughter Piper Bethany McHone.

The service for Frank Brooks will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 11 :00 AM at First Baptist Church Forney. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church Forney preceding the service.

A family graveside service will be in Heath, Texas following the public service.
