Freddie Ransom

August 5, 1938 — June 6, 2024

Freddie Joe Ransom , age 85, went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2024 after a 3 year battle with ALS. He was born on August 5, 1938 in Cooper, Texas to parents Charlie and Zadie Ransom.

Before he retired, Freddie worked as a technician with NCR where he worked on bank proofing machines.

Freddie was currently a member of Sunnyvale First Baptist Church and was blessed with the gift of serving others. Over the years, he faithfully served in many capacities in various churches which included serving as a deacon, driving the bus for the youth, and cooking weekly meals. When he was no longer able to cook, he continued to find other ways to serve the Lord. One of those was volunteering with the Texas Baptist Men where he served in the Disaster Relief unit and also as a warehouse manager. Some of his most memorable highlights in life were spent volunteering his time in missions work where he would pack shipping containers being sent to Eku, Nigeria and having the privilege to go there on several occasions. These things remained a passion of his until he was physically no longer able.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra; parents, Charlie and Zadie Ransom; and grandson, Kelsey Ransom.

He is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Ramsey and husband Dave; son, Brian Ransom and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Nathan Seals, Micky and Jon Williams, Caleb and Chelsea Ransom, Vincent and Lindsey Ramsey; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Reilly, Caile, Jacie, Aurora, Gavin, Rowan, Sadie, Jack, and Sandra; brother, Charles Ransom and wife Marge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
