Gerald Rogers II

Gerald Gene "Johnny" Rogers II, 61, of Mesquite, TX passed away on July 9, 2023 after a long battle with lung cancer.

Johnny was born on Halloween night, October 31, 1961 to Brenda and Gerald "Jerry" Rogers in Montgomery, West Virginia. Johnny was raised in the town of Gauley Bridge in West Virginia. Johnny moved to Texas in 1985 where he would eventually raise his 3 children and enjoy a career in precision sheet metal manufacturing and fabrication for nearly 40 years. Johnny enjoyed watching sports, had a love for rock and blues music, and reveled in grilling out and enjoying the countryside.

Johnny is survived by his former wife, Laura Rogers of Forney, TX; daughters, Cassie Prater and her husband Josh Prater of Arlington, TX, Marlee Rogers of Forney, TX; grandson Damon Rogers of Odessa, TX; siblings Crystal Armstrong and her husband Wayne Armstrong of Glasgow, WV, Wendy Fink and her husband Frank Bainbridge of Gauley Bridge, WV; multiple nieces and nephews; and many more loving family and friends.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents Jerry and Brenda Rogers, and daughter Leslie Annette Rogers.
