Geraldine Sarratt, 84 passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. She was born January 1, 1937 in Malakoff, Texas to Buford Collins and Ruth Allen Collins.
Geraldine was always going and active. She was a member of the YMCA for several years, enjoyed playing tennis, chickenfoot and 42, and she often would take the bus to Branson to take in the shows there. She also participated in Zumba classes. She loved reading, especially her Bible. She was a great cook and was always cooking for her family, with whom she was famous for her German Chocolate cake and delightful no-bake banana pudding. Most of all though she loved Jesus above all. She attended Gospel Lighthouse in Dallas, where she was a Sunday School teacher, later she attended First Family in Dallas where she was active in the choir and most recently she attended Dallas First Assembly, where she was active in the ladies Bible study.
Preceding Geraldine in death were her parents; sister, Imogene Poe and niece, Phyllis Ray. She is survived by daughter, Connie Ashton Gregory and husband Gene of Duncanville, TX, sons, Ben Sarratt Jr and wife Rejoice of Nevada, TX and Bobby Dean Sarratt of Dallas; 3 grandchildren, Anna Christine Dahl, Crystal Dean and Jude Sarratt; 5 great-grandchildren, Nathan Rodriguez, Katelyn Rodriguez, Alison Dahl, Andrew Dahl and Caylee Dean; one great-great granddaughter, Raeleigh Rodriguez; and several loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
