He is survived by his loving spouse, Sandra Cruz; his son, Artur Cruz; his devoted sister, Maria Pereira; and his beloved nieces and nephew, Antonio Pereira, Rita Pereira, and Luiza Pereira His family was the center of his world, and he often found joy in sharing memorable moments with them.

An avid collector of comic books and a passionate film enthusiast, Gilberto enjoyed spending his free time immersed in stories that sparked his imagination. He had a love for music, hunting, and sharing jokes that would light up any gathering. He was particularly proud of purchasing his dream car, which he often spoke about with great excitement. Known for his helpful nature, Gilberto was always ready to support his friends and lend a hand whenever needed.

The Cruz family will hold visitation at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 5:00-8:00 PM, with a rosary at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 31, 2026, at St. Augustine Catholic Church located at 1054 N. St. Augustine Rd. - Dallas, TX 75217.

Gilberto's spirit will be cherished, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
