Glenna Fay Hemphill Scroggins was born in Leonard, TX on May 1, 1931 to Glenn and Iona Hemphill. Glenna passed from this life to her eternal home on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. She was 92 years old.
Glenna is survived by daughters Beverly Coats and husband Mitch, and Debbie Kennemer and husband Steve; grandchildren, Stephanie Carroll and husband Chris, Casey Coats and wife Lauren, Steven Kennemer and wife Amy, and Emily Nine and husband Josh; great grandchildren Caleb, Sadie, and Luke Carroll, Sawyer, Dayton, Auggie, and Ruby Coats, Natalie and Madison Kennemer, and Henry and Garrett Nine.
Glenna was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, W. B. Scroggins. They got married in 1951 and were married for 60 years.
Glenna grew up in Leonard and Mulberry. She graduated from Bonham High School, where she met and fell in love with W. B. Scroggins.
Before moving to Long Creek Assisted Living, Glenna attended First Baptist Church Sunnyvale. She enjoyed being with her many friends and going on trips.
Glenna was known as an extremely hard worker, from picking cotton on the family farm, to working in their grocery stores, to hauling and stacking hay bales with W.B. She loved plants and keeping her yard pristine. She mowed her lawn even into her 80s. At one point she was proudly awarded "Yard of the Month."
A graveside service for the family will take place on May 3 at Mulberry Cemetery.
