Guadalupe 'Lupe' Rodriguez (age 69), of Mesquite Texas, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on May 30, 2023.
Lupe was born on April 12, 1954 and proudly joined the Marines August 1973. He was honorably discharged in May 1976 after being diagnosed with Lupus. Lupe was a passionate sports fan of the Texas Rangers and the Kansas City Chiefs. He was dedicated to his work at Mission Food Co. for many years until he retired in 2022. The majority of his free time was spent traveling many miles to countless events to support his grandchildren in all of their extra curricular activities. He enjoyed taking cruises with his wife to watch the sunsets, but most of all adored watching his family grow. Despite spending much of his later life battling his illnesses, Lupe maintained a positive yet calm attitude. He never lost his quick wit.
Lupe is survived by his loving wife Amelia Rodriguez, Daughters, Monica Muniz (Leo), Lisa Gonzales (Marc), Andrea Dupree (Derek), Monica Harisis (Mark) and Aurora Alonzo (Cathy); thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers, Johnny Rodriguez (Yolanda), and Gabriel Rodriguez (Debbie), three sisters, Hilaria Rodriguez, Rosie Juarez (Johnny) Delores Perez (Paul); and numerous nieces and nephews plus a large extended family whom he dearly loved. He was preceded in death by his Father Marcario Rodriguez, Mother Virginia Rodriguez; two brothers, Mike Rodriguez and Sammy Rodriguez.
Lupe's words of wisdom and caring nature will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
"Good Marine, Great Dad, and Even Greater Grandpa!"
