Helen Lorraine Dugger, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, at the age of 89. Most everyone who knew her called her Nana, and she considered each of them as her own. She found great joy watching their families grow and witnessing their adventures through stories and pictures.
Helen enjoyed gardening, reading, travel and horse racing. She loved all sports, but she had a particular passion for baseball, which she learned watching her father play when she was a young girl. She was a loyal fan of the Texas Rangers, and also shared the family's devotion to the Texas Longhorns.
In her later years, she found comfort being in her home, surrounded by her many treasures, delighting family with stories of where each item came from, who gifted it to her, and all the special memories attached. Her life was full, not because of the treasures, but because of the warm moments each item brought her and she held closely in her heart.
Helen was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 60 years, George Blaine Dugger Sr.; her parents, Albert Collins High and Verna Bodin High; and her brother, A.C. High Jr.
She is survived by her children Blaine Dugger, Melissa Brown and husband Mike, Blair Dugger and wife Lynn; her precious grandchildren, Heather Mumford and husband Blake, Trey Dugger and wife Annabeth, Ben Beard and wife Lauren, Josh Beard and wife Jenna, Collin Dugger and Presley Dugger; her cherished great-grandchildren, Hunter Wallace, Jake Wallace, Jax Wallace, Dylan Wallace, Ethan Dugger, Tenley Dugger, Henry Beard and Brooklyn Beard. She is also survived by her sister, Sonja Dupree, who shares many special travel memories with her, as well as many other family members, friends and special neighbors.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family is grateful for the beautiful life she lived and the legacy she leaves behind.
