Herman Charles Lockhart of Forney, Texas, passed away on September 3, 2026 at the age of 63.  He was born on August 1, 1963 to parents Bill and Martha Lockhart in Mesquite, TX. Herman was known as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, whose presence brought laughter, warmth, and joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Bill and Martha Lockhart; and older brother, Bob Alford.

Herman was a man who loved his family deeply. He is survived by his wife, Carol; his daughters, Kameron Lockhart and her husband, Steven Milner, and Christina Higgins and her husband, Jonathan; his grandchildren, Alyssa Higgins, Savanna Langle, and Austin Langle; his sisters, Denise Woodworth and her husband, Brad, and Kathy Oster and her husband, Terry; and precious nieces and nephews.

Herman was full of life, witty, and genuinely funny. He had a gift for making people feel welcome, and it seemed that everyone he met quickly became his friend. His easygoing spirit, quick humor, and generous heart left an impression on countless people. He especially loved cooking for his family, bringing people together for home-cooked food and good conversation. He enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia and had a passion for live music. But more than anything, Herman loved being surrounded by the people he cared about. The memories created around family gatherings, meals, laughter, music, and everyday moments will be treasured by those who knew and loved him.

Herman will be infinitely missed, but his laughter, stories, kindness, and love will live on in his family and in the many friendships he made throughout his life. His greatest legacy is the love he gave so freely and the myriad of people who were better for having known him.

He was loved deeply, he was one of a kind, and he will never be forgotten.

Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX. The visitation will be Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 6-8 PM and the funeral will be Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 10 AM. Herman requested his celebration of life be casual and everyone wear their favorite sports jersey.
