Ida May Barnhart

May 2, 1946 — September 1, 2021

Ida May (Keith) Barnhart, age 75, of Mesquite, Texas died on September 1, 2021 after battling cancer.  She was born in Dallas, Texas on May 2, 1946 to Guy and Tressie (Summa) Keith. 

Ida is proceeded in death by her husband of 43 years, Donald Barnhart; her parents, and her brothers Joel Allan Keith and G.R. Keith, Jr.

She is survived by her son Matt Baker and his wife Vicki of Wichita Falls, Texas;  her son Jon Barnhart and his wife Jennifer of Forney, Texas;  her step-daughter Shannon Armstrong of Frisco, Texas;  and eight grandchildren Aaron & Kelsey Baker, Emily Baker, Nathan Baker, Anna Barnhart, Ethan Barnhart, Andrew Armstrong and Hunter Armstrong.

Ida graduated from Dawson High School in 1964.  She attended Navarro Jr. College and Eastfield College.  In 1969 Ida began a 27-year career with Southwestern Bell.

She and Don volunteered many years as Cub Scout leaders. 

Ida was extremely proud of her family. Her happiest times were when everyone was able to get together at “Mimi and Papa’s” house.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
