Ila Barton Blakeney

October 13, 1977-February 18, 2021

On February 18,2021, God opened his arms to receive our precious Ila Barton Blakeney into his kingdom.

 Ila was a graduate of Forney High School and studied at Christ for the Nations. She worked for Stevens Transport and was a member of Trinity Family Church in Forney.

Ila was preceded in death by her brother, Larry David Tunnell; grandparents William Davis and Billy Faye Weiass and Thomas and Agnes Mathis; as well as aunts Sandra Ramirez and Crystal Heiny.

Ila is survived by her husband, Ryan Blakeney and his family that loved her so; her parents Della and David Mathis; her brother Tony Moore; and family members LaVena (Alfred) Sierra, Juanita (Troy) Lamb and Tracy (Larry) Anderson. Ila is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends who will treasure her memory.

A viewing will take place at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale from 6 to 8pm, Friday February 26^th.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3pm on Saturday, February 27^th, at Trinity Family Church in Forney. Ryan asks those attending to wear bright, spring-time colors to honor Ila’s zest for life.

The family asks that in leu of flowers donations can be made to the Trinity Family Church. P.O. Box 635, Forney, TX 75126 Donations will be used for the church’s missions/building funds; both of which were dear to Ila’s heart.

Although Ila’s time on this earth was shorter than those who loved her would have liked, her loving, giving and faith-filled spirit continues to live on in everyone she knew. Ila and her beautiful smile will be missed.
