Jackie Gunn

Jackie Dwyan Gunn was born Oct 20, 1949 in Sulpher Springs, TX. He passed away at 5:15 pm on September 8, 2021 in Greenville, TX.

Jackie served his country in the U.S. Army as a SP5 door gunner during the Vietnam War. Jackie was a true Patriot and loved his country. When returning to the States, Jackie became a long-haul truck driver for many years.

He loved the freedom of being on the open road. Jackie had a very big heart when it came to animals and the people that he thought dearly of.

 He was survived by his daughter, Lisa Gunn, brother Tommy Ray, sister Julia Ray Ladnier, multiple siblings, fur babies Callie and Copper, stepdaughters Stephanie Booth and Wendy Speight, stepson Kevin Penson, granddaughters Heather Miceli, Katie Abbott, Peyton Conyers, Kelsey Hargrave, and Neely Conyers, grandsons SGT Steven Miceli III, Billy Sloan, David Toles, Elijah Estep, Scottie Johnson, and Travis Oden, great granddaughter Kenley Dunigan, great grandson Lux Bustillos, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his mom Juanita Ray and father George Edward Otts Gunn, and stepfather James Hubert Ray. He will be forever in our minds and our hearts. 

We will have the Memorial at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 US-80, Sunnyvale, TX 75182 at 10:00 am on Sept 27, 2021 followed by the placement of his ashes at the DFW National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
