James Alexander Gates

James Alexander Gates was born January 25, 1991, in Dallas, TX to Scott Fredrik Gates and Lisa Beth Vleet-Gates. He passed from this life on August 31, 2021. 

James is survived by his wife, Ashley Dull-Gates of Dallas, TX; parents Fredrik Gates and Lisa Beth Van Vleet-Gates; brothers, Nathan and Tammy Gates of Mesquite, TX, Toby and Layna Dull of Fort Worth, TX, Colby and Charity Dull of Bearden, AR and in-laws Kenneth and Tawalia Humphries of Omaha, AR. James was preceded in death by his baby boy, Jedidiah Matthew Gates.

He thrived being an estimator at Green Pine Professional Tree Service, LLC.  James was passionate about music, especially guitar and piano, languages such as Spanish, sign language and Romanian. He loved spending time with his beloved wife, helping others and serving the Lord. He was an active member of Parkside Baptist Church where he served by driving the bus for an “A” and “C” route, media, Deaf Ministry, Spanish ministry, “B” and “C” First Time Class.  He volunteered and helped at Victory Baptist Church for the baptism team, Spanish & sign language along with piano and guitar. His was enthused helping others and making everyone else feel welcome.

He will be dearly missed.
