James Wilson Magee Jr. passed away on March 2nd, 2018 in Dallas, TX. He was 74 years old. James was born on December 14th, 1943 in Anderson County, TX. He graduated in 1962 from Cayuga High School where he played on the state bound basketball team. He is preceded in death by father JW Magee, mother, Erma Lee Thornton Magee, and brother David Lee Magee. James is survived by wife of 29 years, Glenda Paschall Magee. He had one daughter, Shannon Magee Collins , husband Mike Collins of Fort Worth. Step-son Jerry O. Jones Jr. , wife Sheri Jones. Step-daughter Holly Salyards, husband Mike Salyards. Grandkids Tara Jane Collins, Michael James Collins, Jessica Foust, Jeff Giles, Brian Lockhart, Heath Salyards, Jacob Jones, and Emily Jones. Great-grandchildren Ayden Foust and Cooper Giles. Sister is Mary Ann Davis, husband Nathan Davis of Athens, TX. Also, numerous cousins nieces and nephews. James started his career at Dallas Power and Light in 1962. He was a lineman then later was promoted to management and was there until retirement. He was kind, gentle, and soft-spoken. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He enjoyed spending time on his farm and working with his cows. He loved his church and Sunday School class. He served many places at church including the Finance committee, the SPRC, and was in charge of the ushers. He also enjoyed family time and going out to dinner with friends. He will be greatly missed by all that love him and hold him dear.
