Jeffery Allen Miller

Coach Jeffery Allen Miller, 43, of Forney, TX, passed away on April 1, 2023 at his residence.

Jeff was born on October 4, 1979 to Jimmy Don & Nancy Miller in Ft. Sill, OK. After Jeff graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1998, he went on to receive his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology from UTPB. Jeff then achieved his Masters of Education in Educational Leadership at Grand Canyon University.

After graduating he then received his teaching certifications in 8-12 Composite Science, Special Education, Forensic Science, and Principles of Technology. He also held many coaching certifications including : USSF "C" & "D" Nationals, United Soccer Coaches HS, National, and Advanced National Diploma. He started his first job at Floydada Collegiate Jr High as teacher and basketball/track coach, kickstarting a 17 year career in teaching & coaching. He currently was working at Denton Braswell as the Head Girls Soccer Coach. He has coached many sports, but his main love was being a soccer coach and mentor.

In 2003, Jeff met his wife, Athena, at college in Odessa, TX. Jeff and Athena were married in the Bahamas on July 17, 2008. They have three children, Rebecca (20), Wesley (18) and Preston (7).

Jeff loved to spend his time with his family. He also played sports - soccer and softball. Jeff played semi-pro indoor and outdoor soccer in Lubbock, TX for the Lubbock Sand Devils and DFW Tornadoes. He was an excellent cook and also enjoyed fishing.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Don Miller, and grandparents, Jimmy A. Miller, Betty Walker, and Charles Walker. He is survived by his wife, Athena, their three children, his mother, Nancy Miller, and siblings : Heather Fowler; Jeremy Miller and his wife Heather; Kimberly Hicks and her husband Jered. He is also survived by his grandmother Jean Miller, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The memorial for Jeff Miller will be held on Sunday 4/16/23 at 2:00pm. Location TBD.
