Jeffery Edward Finton Sr, beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend made his final journey to meet his Savior on Friday, March 18, 2022, at 1:40am, at the age of 60 after a long battle with COVID-19.
Born on December 24, 1961, he was a 1980 graduate of Elmhurst High School. He married his sweetheart, Kelly, on October 10, 1987. Jeffery served the Lord faithfully alongside his family at the Roanoke Baptist Church in Roanoke, Indiana for over 30 years before he felt God leading he and his family to Mesquite, Texas where he has been a member of Parkside Baptist Church for the last 11 years. Jeffery was known for his outgoing personality and could talk for hours if you let him or was always quick to drop a joke or funny comment.
Jeffery was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gusta and Vera Finton, and maternal grandparents, Leo and Dorothy Keplinger, as well as 2 grandchildren.
He is survived by his parents, James and Ruth Finton of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a brother, Ron (Diane) Finton of Fort Wayne, Indiana; his loving wife of 34 years, Kelly Finton of Balch Springs, Texas; four sons, Jeffery Jr (DeLani) Finton of Teague, Texas, Kaalem (Sydney) Finton of Bastrop, Texas, Konner-Lee (Savannah) Finton of Midlothian, Texas, and Jeremiah Finton of Balch Springs, Texas; four daughters, Kortney (Steven) Bryant of Terrell, Texas, Jaisharee (Travis) Young of Mesquite, Texas, Jerikah and Kassidy Finton of Balch Springs, Texas, along with 11 grandchildren: Andrew Bryant, Tyler Finton, Luke Bryant, Colton Bryant, Tristan Finton, Aiden Finton, Carolyn Young, Kaden Bryant, Avery Finton, Lyla Finton, and Peyton Finton. Jeffery has 2 additional grandchildren that are to be born in the next few weeks: Jeffery III and Travis Jr.
Visitation is on Thursday, March 22, 2022, from 5pm-8pm at the New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas.
The memorial service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2022, at the Parkside Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas, with Dr. Mike Wells officiating. Internment will follow immediately after at New Hope Memorial Gardens in Sunnyvale, Texas, with Dr. Jack Bachman.
