Jessie Kay Potts

November 4, 1948 – May 20, 2026

“Kay” passed away on May 20, 2026, at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 16 days. She was born to Oran and Lucille Thornton. She married David Allen Potts on March 9, 1990.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Oran and Lucille Thornton. She is survived by her husband, David Potts; her sister Lana and her husband Michael; her brother Buck and his wife as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Kay served in the Marine Corps where she was honorably discharged. She loved her family, especially the blessing of being aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She was humble about her talent for drawing and those fortunate to have viewed or gifted by that are blessed. Her greatest love and passion were for her the animals she so lovingly brought into her home.

It goes without saying that Kay will be missed and the space she with leaves behind will be a constant reminder of how fleeting time is and tomorrow is not promised to us. We will mourn the loss individually and on a very personal level. But take comfort knowing she expressly did not want to be mourned as if her “light has died” but find comfort in knowing that she is joyful and at peace walking with Jesus Christ by her side
