Joan McGuffey

Joan McGuffey was born on September 14,1933 in Dallas, Texas to William Ray and Ella Gawne Pardue. Joan has been a resident of Lufkin, Texas since 2018.

Joan was known for her love of  entertaining and hosting parties. She loved to cook, and have her family over.  The grandkids loved to ride her golf carts, and fish in her pond.

Her life was forever changed when she met and married her husband, O.E. McGuffey (Mac). He fulfilled her life dream of travel and living in the country. Mac and Joan represented the Hella Shrine as Potentate and First Lady.

She is survived by her loving children, Mike and Pam Potter; Diane and Ed Bush; Tim Potter; Myra Short; Mary McGuffey.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Luke and Katy Potter; Chase Potter; Jake Potter and Courtney Glover; Amy and Joe Hammes; Crystal and Jim Widman; Grayson Cate; Kenny and Susan Bush; Lisa Bush. And a sister Louise Andreason.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Pamela Marie Cate; and her husband O.E. McGuffey.

The family request those wishing to donate to a charity in memory of Joan. May donate to Shrine Hospital, Houston, Texas.
