Joe Wayne Athey, 85

Joe Wayne Athey, father and enthusiast of life's many adventures, passed away on May 14, 2024, at the age of 85 in Forney, Texas.

Born with a spirit of excitement and a love for the great outdoors, Joe lived his life to the fullest. He found joy in the roar of engines at the drag strip, the peaceful challenge of fishing, and the thrill of the hunt. These passions defined much of his life, providing countless stories and cherished memories for his family and friends.

Joe's legacy is carried on by his three children, Steve Athey, Debra Butler, and Kenneth Athey. His love for them was evident in every aspect of his life, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness.

In accordance with his wishes, Joe will be cremated. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be planned at a later date.
