Joe Earl Gibbons was born in Dallas, TX on August 29, 1935 to Robert and Daisy Gibbons and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 27, 2021.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Fay Gibbons; their children: Daisy Cook & husband Moose, Terry Gibbons & wife Mary Ann; 7 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; and numerous other family and friends.
Joe was a hard working man and worked as a truck driver for the majority of his life. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Lifetime member of the Sharon Shrine Temple in Tyler, Texas and a devoted member of the Jeep Patrol. He took good care of his family and he loved his wife, Fay with all of his heart. Joe had a servant's heart. Not only did he provide for his family, Joe and Fay would spend countless hours volunteering with the Shriners to raise money for the Shriners Hospitals. There were many weekends spent raising money, even on the side of the road at times, or riding in the jeep competitions and parades. You can see his heart was so giving and caring, especially for children in need. Joe was a role model for the future generations to come. He loved his family and his church family with his whole heart. Joe's life was the perfect example of what Christ-like love looks like and he will be missed until we meet again!
Pallbearers will be Jason Cook, Justin Cook, Jordan Gibbons, Jacob Gibbons, Chris Smith, Jason Burch, Joey Grose, Christian Case.
