John Hollowell, 85, passed away on January 18, 2022, in Mesquite, TX.
Our sweet Daddy enjoyed the simple things in life. His garden brought him so much joy. He loved going for walks in the neighborhood and he never met a stranger. Daddy made friends with teenagers to the elderly. It did not matter to him your status in life. If you were breathing, you were important and he would do anything for you. Daddy would stop and help build a fence or fix a lawn mower and "heaven forbid" money was brought up and you had a dime to your name, he was going to spend hours helping you grow that dime. Daddy worked so hard his whole life to take care of his family and we never heard him complain. We could not have been more blessed. He was the most positive person we knew. Never had a negative thing to say about anyone. Everyday when he was so sick in the hospital and rehab we would always ask how he was doing and his response was always "I'm Blessed" or "Better than I deserve."
John Hollowell will be remembered for being a steadfast and devoted husband, father and true friend. We are all so blessed to have had him as long as we did, but oh what Robin and I wouldn't give to have one more day sitting around the kitchen table looking out on his beautiful backyard and listening to his stories.
You will live on in our hearts forever.
