John Franklin Littlejohn, Sr

September 30, 1931 — January 6, 2021

John Franklin Littlejohn Sr. passed away on January 6, 2021 at the age of 89 years in Garland, Texas. He was born September 30, 1931 in Emory, Texas to Martin and Julie Littlejohn and was the eldest of five children. John served in the U. S. Army as a paratrooper and was Honorably Discharged in 1954. He founded Littlejohn’s Upholstery in 1963 and served hundreds of customers in the Metroplex before his retirement in 2007. As a member of the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce, John served during numerous community events. John was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.

John was preceded in death by his wife Lavonne, step son Chris Bean, brother Richard, and his parents.  He is survived by daughter Debbie (Mike) Bailey, son Johnny (Alicia) Littlejohn, step daughter Connie (Larry) Miley, and step son Mark (Melissa) Bean. Those also left to remember John are granddaughters, Sabrina (David) Smith, Valerie (Stephen) Bailey, step granddaughter Kristen (Collin) Cox, and step grandson Cameron Miley, great grandchildren Austin, Dylan, Parker, Maddie, and step great grandson Connor. Also survived by sister Mary Lambright, brother Robert (Delores) Littlejohn, and brother James (Pansy) Littlejohn and many nieces and nephews.

Open visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 4:30 PM on Monday, January 11, 2021 at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 East Hwy 80, Sunnyvale, Texas. Friends are welcome to come by and pay their respects on that date.

Due to the Covid pandemic, there will be a graveside service for immediate family only, at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday January 12, 2021 at Long Creek Cemetery, 504 Long Creek Rd, Sunnyvale, TX.
