Johnnie Madell Norman Loucks

October 24, 1932 — November 21, 2020

Johnnie Madell Norman Loucks, of Mesquite, TX, was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the age of 88.  She was born on October 24, 1932 to Morris Lee and Emma Sue (Whitfield) Minor in Upshur County, Texas. She had two brothers and four sisters.

She married the love of her life, Earl Wayne Norman, on May 27, 1951.  He asked her to marry him the day they met and they were wed a week later before he left for the Navy.  They were blessed with four children in five years.  Earl and Johnnie spent time in a few places, but made Mesquite their home for the majority of their 37 years together.

She married Don Loucks on March 14, 1992, a widow with six grown children and numerous grandchildren.  Don and Johnnie enjoyed traveling together. They lived in Garland, Texas until his passing in 2010.

She is survived by her sister, Mable Haley; daughter Diane Cross and husband, Donnie; daughter Janice Speir and husband, Bob; and son Bruce Norman and wife, Rhydonia; 7 grandchildren: Chanda (Cross) Littleton, Summer (Norman) Hoop, Brittany (Norman) Wells, Krista Norman, Jared Norman, Brandon Norman and Robert Speir; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Emma Sue Minor; husband, Earl Norman (1988); son, Wayne Norman (1996); husband, Don Loucks (2010); 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

As a teenager she moved from East Texas and worked at Neiman Marcus in downtown Dallas.  She loved church and was a Sunday school teacher for a time.  She enjoyed having the young people from church come over to hang out and listen to Tommie Kay play the piano and Wayne play the guitar while the rest sang.  She was a wonderful cook.  Johnnie was devoted to God, her family, reading her Bible and loving gospel music.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
