Kenneth Lourn Smith, Jr., 65, passed away peacefully at home on May 24, 2026, in Dallas, Texas.

Born on August 1, 1960, in Garland, Texas, Kenneth was raised in Dallas and spent his life building not only homes, but lasting relationships and a legacy of hard work, loyalty, and love for his family.

Kenneth began his career in construction as a framer for Travis Williams. Over the years, he worked as a subcontractor in many areas of construction before finding his home with Robbie Hale Homes, where he faithfully served as a superintendent for 32 years. He took tremendous pride in his work and was respected by all who knew him.

On April 8, 1978, at just 17 years old, Kenneth married the love of his life, Debbie. What began as puppy love grew into a beautiful 48-year marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering love. Together they built a life centered around family, faithfulness, and caring for others.

Kenneth was a proud father to his three sons, Kenny, Steven, and Justin. The true light of his life was his family, especially his six grandchildren: Dakota, Rylan, Maddox, Mason, Meredith, and Mac. He treasured every ballgame, family gathering, family vacation, and moment spent with those he loved.

Outside of work, Kenneth enjoyed camping trips with his friends in his younger days, golf ball hunting, collecting firearms and knives, and painting earlier in life. He was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes. He would do anything for anyone and was known for quietly showing his love through service, generosity, and unwavering support.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Smith Sr.; his beloved son, Kenny Smith; and his precious grandson, Mason Smith.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Smith; sisters Debbie McCormick and Sheryl Townsend; his devoted wife, Debbie Smith; son Steven Smith; daughter-in-law Alicia Smith-Green and grandchildren Dakota Smith and Rylan Smith; son Justin Smith and daughter-in-law Amanda Smith, along with grandchildren Maddox Smith, Meredith Smith, and Mac Smith; sisters-in-law Donna, Joe Ann, Carol, and Karen; brothers-in-law Ray and Larry; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Kenneth's legacy lives on through the family he loved deeply, the friends he cherished, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness, hard work, and quiet strength.
