Larry Barner

Larry Mitchell Barner, age 72, passed away on March 2, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. Larry was born on April 10, 1951 in Tyler, Texas to parents James Donald Barner and Wanda Sue Barner.

Larry graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School in 1970 where he was the Drum Major and a trumpet player in the band. Following high school, Larry was drafted into the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany and worked as a morse code operator.

On May 20, 1972, Larry married his high school sweetheart, Vicki Diane Hale. After Larry was honorably discharged from the Army, he and Vicki returned to Dallas and then settled in Mesquite, where he began his career in construction, specializing in wall coverings and painting residential developments. He would continue to do so over the next 40 years.

Larry is survived by his wife Vicki; sons Elliot, Andrew, and Evan; grandchildren, Skyler, Zoey, and Luther; father, James Donald; brother, James Rodney; and sisters, Brenda and Ladonna. Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Sue.

The interment service for Larry will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Sunnyvale First Baptist Church in Sunnyvale, Texas.
