Larry Thomas

THOMAS,Larry Leon 66, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with lung cancer.He was born September 9, 1936 in Kersey, CO. the 14th child of Walter and Stella Thomas.He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service and then retired in 1997 after a 20 year plus career in the communications business.He and his wife then retired to Mesquite, TX. to be near their grandchildren.He became known as "Bepa" and was loved by many children throughout the community. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marilyn; daughter & son-in-law, Brenda & Richard Coward of Mesquite; son, David Thomas of Lafayette, LA.; daughter & son-in-law, Laura & Lee Estes of Fayetteville, AR; 4 grandchildren, Ricky, Stephen, Meagan and Alexis Coward; sisters, Jean Gettler, Hazel Halcomb, Ruth Huffert, Peggy Betts; brother, Lloyd Thomas and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 7:00PM Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at the New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Chaplain Kristal Berry offficiating. Family requests that memorials be made to the charity of choice.
