Laura Elaine Wieding Lewis, born on September 8, 1957, in Austin, Texas, passed away on August 1, 2025, in Mesquite, Texas. She is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Jack Lewis. Laura was a loving mother to her children: son Jason Lewis and daughter-in-law Amanda Lewis, daughter Emily Crisp and son-in-law John Crisp. Laura also cherished her role as Granny to Zane and Jared Lewis, who brought immense joy to her life. Her siblings - Lee Price (Richard), Susan Bryant (Chuck), Mark Wieding, Gary Wieding, Nancy Alvarado, Cindy Baxley (Kelly), and brother in-law Greg Lewis, sisters-in-law Tamara Wheeler and Connie Fulenwider, along with numerous nieces and nephews - will all carry her memory in their hearts.

Laura was an incredibly vibrant woman who embraced life with open arms. She cherished her roles as a wife, mother and Granny, pouring her heart into everything she did for her family.

Known for her creativity, Laura had a gift for quilting, often spending hours and hours crafting beautiful quilts that would become cherished family heirlooms. Her hands created warmth and comfort through her amazing quilts.

Playful at heart, her competitive spirit came alive during Sunday games of Wahoo!, with Jack, Emily and John, where laughter and friendly, but hilariously fierce, competition reigned supreme. Laura had a deep love for music, especially Tom Petty! She was always up for hitting the road for a concert with Emily. The State Fair of Texas was another highlight, where she thrived on the lively atmosphere, the food, especially Fletcher's Corny Dogs and winning ribbons for her creative quilts. Laura was also a lifelong, die-hard Washington Redskins fan, always proudly cheering for her team.

Laura had a great love for taking roadtrips with Jack, exploring many Texas counties and soaking in the beauty of the bluebonnets every spring. Their adventures created lasting memories that deepened their bond. Laura always looked forward to the trips with Jack, to visit Jason, Amanda, Zane and Jared in North Carolina.

Sister trips were a cherished tradition for Laura. These were times filled with laughter, stories and the treasured moments that only sisters can share. Holidays were particularly special, filled with activities and food that brought her family together.

Laura's legacy will live on through her family and the countless memories they created together. Her life was a beautiful masterpiece of love, adventure, and experiences that will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Laura was preceded in death by her father, Orville Wieding; mother, Mildred Wieding; father-in-law, Gene Lewis; mother in-law, Joretta Lewis; sister-in-law, Jenene Wieding and brother-in-law, David Wheeler.
