Leoma Frances Rust

September 26, 1933 — January 28, 2022

Leoma Frances Rust, a devoted wife and mother of three, passed away in her home on January 28th, 2022, at the age of 88.

She was born to John William “Bill” and Mable Clara Wauer Ryan on September 26th, 1933, in Mt. Pleasant, Titus County, TX. After graduating from high school, Leoma – commonly known as Frances to her closest family and friends, married Kenneth Harold Rust on October 5th, 1951. Together, they had 3 children: Joy Lynn, Julia Ann, and Kenneth Daniel.

Frances loved spending time in the kitchen, baking tasty treats, and cooking delicious meals for her family. She also enjoyed caring for her beloved Boston Terriers, sewing, collecting antiques, and tending to her flower garden. In addition to being a full-time Homemaker, Frances spent most of her free time working with the school PTA and volunteering as a room mother for her three children. As the family grew, so did the family business, Rust’s Quality Coffee, where Frances worked as an Office Manager honing her typing and administrative skills. Frances used these skills to share her recipes by organizing and creating her own family cookbooks, which many of her family cherish to this day.

Frances is survived by her husband, Kenneth Harold Rust; her children, Julia Ann Rust Hewitt in Vancouver, WA (spouse Lenny Hewitt) and Kenneth Daniel “Danny” Rust in Lone Oak, TX (spouse Cynthia Tuttle Rust); her grandchildren, Joy Beth Richardson Cook, Russel Wayne Whitmore, Jennifer Ann Hewitt Calvery, Ashley Renee Rust, Jamie Robert Rorie, Brandi Dannette Rorie; and her great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Richardson, Kayleigh Rorie Stark, Ryleigh Rorie, Brier Smith, Kenneth Chase Whitmore, Chancellor Wayne Whitmore, Byron Nathaniel Whitmore, and Trinity Love Whitmore; her sisters, Diane Ryan Goates, and her brother, John William Ryan, Jr. in Mt. Pleasant, TX.

The family preceding death are her daughter, Joy Lynn Richardson, and her sisters, Maime Ryan, Betty Lou Ryan, and Peggy Ryan.

Her bright smile, kind heart, and motherly nature will be missed.
