Linda Gayle Gant passed away peacefully on Sept 10, 2024 at the age of 76.
Linda was born in Mineola, Texas to Brooks and Arrie Lou Duncan.
Linda was married to her loving husband, Ron, for 56 years. Their enduring love was a testament to their unwavering commitment to each other. Together they created a beautiful family that Linda cherished deeply.
Linda dedicated her life to making a positive impact on the world. She found great joy in her work as a teacher in Mesquite ISD for 28 years where she inspired countless students. In addition to her teaching career she was a talented artist and an advocate for reading. She wrote and illustrated a children's book titled Readers are Leaders. Her creativity and dedication to education left a lasting legacy on those who knew her.
Linda is survived by her loving husband Ron, her son Shane Gant, her daughter Shannon Sonoda and son in law Joey Sonoda, her grandchildren Bayli Sonoda-Urias and husband Pete Urias, Roman Sonoda, Lawson Gant and fiancée Renee Woolever, Braden Sonoda, her great grandchildren OhaniSonoda, Makai Sonoda-Urias, and PJ Urias.
A funeral service will be held on Monday Sept 16, 2024 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas. Visitation will be 10-11am and the service will begin at 11 am.
