Linda Susan Herlong Jackson, passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on May 12, 2025, at the age of 75. She was born in Dallas, Texas on March 5, 1950 to the late James Herlong and Mary Helen Levenson.
Her childhood was spent in Dallas, Texas, Miami, Florida, and Warner Robins, Georgia. She graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry. After college, Oklahoma City became her home for over 50 years. During those years, she performed many jobs including surgical technologist, registered nurse, and private care giver. Outside her careers, she became an ordained minister and traveled to Russia, China, Australia, New Zealand, and Honduras to do missionary work. Adding to her list of accomplishments, she obtained a private pilots license and was a member of International Women Pilots, the Ninety-nines, Inc.
Linda's many interests and hobbies included rock, fossil, and shell collecting, motorcycles, taekwondo, playing guitar, maintaining saltwater aquariums, stained glass art, calligraphy (namely Olde English), photography, painting, drawing, medical illustrator and author of 2 books. She was a joyful and loving mother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all.
Linda is preceded in death by her daughter, Heather Nicole Jackson.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her son, Brandon Jackson and wife Helen; her grandchildren, Casey and Cheeray; sister, Saundra Brogdon and husband Willie; brother, Aaron Levenson and wife Je'none; sister, Janet Murray and husband Brian; and a host of nieces and nephews.
