Lowell Thomas Sherman, 76, of Seagoville, Tx. entered the joys of heaven August 17, 2021.  He was born on December 2, 1944. Lowell grew up in a family of 17, his mom, dad and 15 children.  

He began a great love story when he met and married Barbara his lifelong love of 57 years in 1964.  He met her while attending Mechanicsburg High School where he graduated in 1963.  He continued his education with a 2 year degree from Columbus Business University.  He received his bachelor’s degree in pastoral studies from Arlington Baptist College and continued studies at Dallas Theological and Luther Rice Seminary working towards a masters degree.  Lowell spent most of his career as pastor at churches in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Arlington, Garland, Rowlett and Dallas Texas. He loved sharing God’s word from the pulpit and in everyday life.  

In his retirement he loved serving at First Baptist Church Seagoville, serving in different capacities in the City of Seagoville.  He enjoyed studying the Bible, doting on his wife, traveling and sharing pictures of his family.  

He was preceded in death by his parents Manuel Sherman and Dixie Rice Sherman, beloved son Gregory, brothers: George (Bill), James (Benny), Robert (Bob), Bert, Ed, Richard (Dick), sisters: Betty Pack, Glendine Fultz, Wilma (Jane) Tull, Janet Shipley, Yvonne Hampton, Judy Michael. Survived by his wife Barbara Griffith Sherman, 2 daughters: Deborah (Brad) Ainsworth, Lisa (Brandon) Phillips. 6 Grandchildren: Michael (Veronica) Sherman, Krystal Sherman, Lauren (Jacob) Maxon, Kayla (Rahme) Butaineh, Nathan (Megan) Phillips, Victoria (Bryce) Jackson. 8 Great Grandchildren: Emma, Waylon, Katelynn, Lucas, Brooklynn, Madinah and Asia.  Brother Terry (Julie) Sherman and Sister Brenda (Gale) Dixon and so many extended friends and family. 

Celebrating a life well lived Psalm 119:125. I am your servant; give me understanding, that I may know your testimonies.
