Margaret Nell Attaway

Margaret Attaway went home to the Lord on Tuesday March 14, 2023 at the age of 80. Margaret, known affectionately as Nanny to her loved ones, was born on February 3, 1943 the tenth of fourteen siblings born in Linden TX, the family moved to Dallas in 1953. Margaret graduated in 1961 from WW Samuel High School.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Ray Attaway, children Jerry Don Norrell, Clifford Ray Attaway and Margie Lujan ; her parents Arthur and Maggie Tramel; brothers and sisters Jimmie Lee Tramel, Betty Shew, Royce Tramel, Juanita Morris, Jake Tramel, Clifford Shew, Annis Hays, Linda Sue Harris.

She worked for years in the insurance field both for Continental and later for other agencies. She was known for her knowledge of the industry and the great care she took in serving her clients. Margaret was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Dallas, TX. Above all else Margaret was known for the love she had for her family, those that were her own and many others that were not born to her but were her kids, nonetheless. Whether calling them daily, having them pull weeds in the flower beds, or showering them with love and gifts at Christmastime, Margaret was at her happiest when surrounded by her kids and grandkids. Often on weekends she would be found going to their events: rodeos, ball games, dance recitals, and on Sundays screaming at the TV as her Dallas Cowboys once again let her down. As onery as she could be Margaret was always quick to offer a hand in need to anyone. "You're supposed to help folks when you can" was a belief she practiced daily.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Pamela Thompson, son Kevin Attaway and his wife Melissa. She is survived by her grandchildren Elijah Thompson his wife Amber and son Bronc; Joshua Thompson his wife Tiffany and children Emilee and Tommy Dee; Clifford Miller his wife Nikki and daughter Macy; David Little; Jerry Attaway and his wife Beena; Jaret Attaway and Cheyanne Stevens; Christopher Ray Attaway and his children Calon, Cailiegh, Chloe; Calep Ray Attaway and his daughter Tallulah; Colton Ray Attaway; Greg Phillips his wife Ana and children Max and Ender; daughter Haley and Moran and her children Wyatt and Addie.

Margaret is also survived by her brothers and sisters Orvis Tramel, Verl Tramel his wife Barbara, Rita Tramel, Charles Tramel his wife Margaret, Beavely Clark her husband Harold, Jerry Tramel his wife Patty, and sisters-in-laws Janice Attaway, Sandy Attaway, and Pebba Attaway. And a plethora of nieces and nephews and friends.

We love you Nanny and will miss you til we see you again in the presence of our Lord.

Visitation will be held at New Hope Funeral Home - Monday, March 20, 2023, from 6 pm - 8 pm.

Funeral Service will Tuesday, March 21, at 10 am at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial at Haven of Memories in Canton TX at 12:30 pm.
