Jean Baccus

April 9, 1928 — May 10, 2023

Margaret "Jean" Baccus, 95, went home to be with our Lord, May 10, 2023, after a long battle with a broken femur, CHF, COPD, seizures, strokes, diabetes, HBP and other complications. What a blessing that she lived to be 95!!!! Jean was born April 9, 1928, to Arvel Cromer and Lorene Payne Cromer in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Jean's brothers were A.B. Cromer, deceased; and Bobby Cromer, deceased, has one sonf Steve Cromer (no children). Jean married the love of her life, Billie Ray Baccus, after high school in 1946 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. They had four (4) children.

Preceded her in death was Paula Ruth Baccus, Larry Gene Baccus, Patricia Ann Baccus Joyce, Billie Ray Baccus, and Travis Wooldridge. Survivors are her daughter, Beverly Baccus Perry-Perez and her husband Jay Perez. Jean had four children, Larry, Patty, Beverly and Paula. She had nine grandchildre: Steffanie Edinbyrd and husband Jeff; Leon Baccus and wife Brandi; Lisa Baccus, Kristie Baccus; Cheryl Wooldridge, Billy Bob Callaway; April Swanner; Jami and Husband Matthew Vea; Melissa and husband James Kessler. Jean/Mema had (21) Great Grandchildren: Jeffery, Vada, Aria and Maia Edinbyrd; Blake, Micah and Shelby Baccus-Quezada; Katie Shepherd; Justin, Travis (deceased), Trent, and Dylan Wooldridge; Devon Doffie, Ontarius Rojo; McKenzie, Blake, and Layton Kessler; Tyler, Tanner, Trevor and Twyla Vea; (17) Great great Grandchildren: Jace; Chandler and Leonardo; Macy, Zoe, Lucy, Paisley, Raylea, Dylan, Emmirson, Everlie, Chase, Michael, Kylie, Carter, Travis, and Shaylyn.

She was a loyal preachers wife, as her beloved husband Billie was ordained to preach the Gospel in 1958 at Miller Road Baptist Church in Garland, Texas. Her husband served as pastor for five (5) years at Fisher Road Baptist Church and was an Associate Pastor for many years. She and her husband started a bowling business, B&J Pro Shop, until 2007.

She attended Sulphur Springs High School, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Jean absolutely loved her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Jean/Mema had a big heart and a smile that was intoxicating. Jean moved in with her daughter, Beverly, in 2018 until her passing. Many thanks go to the Hospice team and to her daughter, Beverly, and son-in-law, Jay, and granddaughter, Steffanie, and great grandchildren, Jeffery and Vada, for helping take care of Jean (mom/Mema) 24/7 for the last year.

Visitation for Jean will be at New Hope Funeral Home, located at 500 U.S. 80 Frontage Rd, Sunnyvale, TX 75182, Friday, May 19, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Services for Jean will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at Seagoville Road Baptist Church, located at 11524 Seagoville Rd, Mesquite, TX 75180, with Pastor, Dr. Preston Henderson officiating.

Interment will be at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park, located at 12649 Lake June Rd., Mesquite, Texas 75180.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to Seagoville Road Baptist Church.

Lunch will be provided after the burial at Seagoville Road Baptist Church.
