Mary Jo Hunt

Mary Jo Hunt of Forney was born on December 29, 1939, in Quinlan, Texas. She is the daughter of Edgar Delon Hamm and Christine Samantha (Wood) Haines. Mary Jo went to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on August 18, 2021.

After her retirement from the law firm of Gardere Wynne, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Mary Jo was a devoted Christian woman who loved God, her family, friends and country. She provided endless love and support to those in need. “Granny” could often be found doting over her four grandchildren, doing volunteer work, quilting, gardening and relaxing with her beloved Boston Terrier Dixie Mae.

Cherishing her memory are her daughter Karen Lea Hunt of Plano, John Patrick Hunt and wife Tiffany of Forney, Texas, Mary Kathryn Hunt and Rusty Roberson of Forney, Texas; four grandchildren, Patrick Ryan Hunt, John Connor Hunt, Tate Aaron Tarpley and Landry Kate Tarpley. She is also survived by her sisters; Tommye Joyce Koehler of Seagoville, Texas, Shirley Ann Mitchell of Longview, Texas and Johnice Anderson and husband Jack of Lakeway, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband George Lee Hunt.
