Mathew M. Kovoor was born on February 14th, 1939 in Thrissur, Kerala at the Kovoor House. He was the second of four children born to the Late Kovoor Mathew and the Late Achamma Kovoor. After completing his secondary studies, Mathew left Kerala to pursue a B.Sc. in both Mathematics and Physics at the University of Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay University. After receiving his degrees, he worked abroad in Dubai for several years. In 1976, Mathew married the Late Aleyamma (Leah) Kurian from the Vayaliparambil House in Nedumbassery, Kerala. Later that year, they moved to Staten Island, NY. After four years, they relocated to Dallas, Texas where they raised their three children, Leroy, Don, and Linzi. After 21 years of dutiful service with the United States Postal Service, Mathew retired from his position. On January 26, 2021, Mathew left his earthly home to join our Lord. Mathew will always be remembered as a devoted husband and father. Some of his best qualities include his sense of humor, generosity, and sharp wit. His smile, kindness, and big heart will be missed by all those he touched. He leaves behind a legacy as a loving father, grandfather, husband, brother, and friend.
