Michael McClung

Michael Dale McClung, affectionately known as pawpaw, passed away on June 25, 2024 in Mesquite,Tx. He was born in Dallas,Tx February 24, 1958.

Mike leaves behind a trail of cherished memories and loved ones. Mike is survived by his love of 33 years, Linda Delarosa. His sons, Michael Jr and Steven McClung of Dallas, Step-Sons Joey Baker of Tyler, Robert Overton of Dallas- Step-Daughters Tracy Navarro and Tonya Overton of Forney. As well as 10 grandchildren, Harrison Chase, Luke David, Marin, Jordan Alexander, Novaleigh Grace, Jacob Matthew, Alexis Marie, Kearstin Nicole, Janessa Mae and Aiden Cole.

Mike always brought charisma and charm to every occasion, he loved to joke around and have a good time with his family. His sense of humor was infectious and something we could never forget. He could make us all laugh at his silly remarks and southern slang. He liked being on the grill (charcoal) cooking ribs, fajitas and burgers were his specialty. Mike enjoyed a good shrimp cocktail and a Miller Light. He would also dare anyone to a game of Dominos, pool or corn hole.

His passion for working on cars came about at a young age. He loved to take things apart and put them back together. Mike found a Chevelle and paid $50 dollars for it. It did not run, he brought it home, fixed it and slowly restored it. He loved that car so much he had a T-shirt made with a picture of it. Mike had a deep obsession for cars, which allowed him to do mechanic work for over 40 years. He worked at various shops around the Dallas area as well as TXU. Mike made a point of attending the Auto-rama and any car show that he could. He loved everything cars, it was in his soul. More than anything, he was an amazing husband, father, and pawpaw.

Forever in our hearts, you will be missed Michael Dale.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, July 3rd, at 10 A.M at New Hope Funeral Home.
