Mildred Hudson

March 23, 1946 — June 20, 2024

Mildred Rose Ragsdale Hudson passed away on June 20, 2024 at her home in Gun Barrel City.

She is survived by her daughters Teresa Brennan Prewitt, Kahla Rose Brennan, and son Kenneth Wayne Brennan (Debbie); 4 grandchildren: Koree Elaine Perry (Garland), Klenton Hunter Prewitt, Kaylon Melton Brennan (Ashley), Kristen Delanie Brennan; 4 great-grandchildren Bentley Hudson Smith, Landree Grace Perry, Mack Garland Perry, and Clinton Kole Perry; siblings: C. A. Ragsdale of Forney, Tx, Linda Patterson (Mike) of Talty, Tx, Jimmy Don Ragsdale (Jeannie) of Mesquite, Tx, Vicki Ragsdale of Ferris, Tx and Vonda Mays of Tampa, Fl and numerous other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Edwin Hudson, parents Clifton and Eula Faye Ragsdale, her siblings Patricia, Jerry, Lanny, Gloria, Mary, Margaret, Tommy, Charlie, and Bobby.

After many years of being the family beautician, Rose went to cosmetology school and immediately opened her salon, Rose's Coiffures, in downtown Mesquite. Rose had a love of food and was an excellent cook. If you ever had an opportunity to enjoy her sweets, we're certain your dentist will thank you.

Along with her love of George Jones and Merle Haggard, she enjoyed many trips with her sisters. If asked "Do you want to...", her answer was always yes.

"There was never a baby in her sight that could go without meeting our grandma", says Koree. You never knew what to expect from Rose, other than punctuality was not her strong suit, but her wit was sure to be on point. She always brightened any room and often was the life of the party. She will forever be greatly missed and always in our hearts.

Honoring Rose as pallbearers are Kahla Brennan, Kenneth Brennan, Christopher Ragsdale, Hunter Prewitt, Garland Perry, Bentley Smith, and Rocky Dorsett. Funeral services celebrating her beautiful life will be held at Long Creek Baptist Church in Sunnyvale on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Long Creek Cemetery.
