Novelle Martin

April 4, 1923 — October 23, 2022

Novelle passed away on October 23, 2022 at home with her family. She was born on April 4, 1923 to Jessie Laura Harper Lambert and Richard Carl Lambert.

She is survived by her daughter Pamela Martin McWhirter, and her husband Stan, of Garland, TX. Her two grandchildren, Nicholas Martin McWhirter and wife Erin of Dallas, TX and Kristen Martin Lohkamp Hale.

Her great grandchildren, Davis Paul and Baker Martin McWhirter, and Sydney and Skylar Lohkamp.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; three brothers - Richard Lambert, Jack Lambert, both who perished in WWII and Robert (Bobby) Lambert; husband, Paul Lewis Martin in 2015 and son Randall Aston Martin in 2021.

Novelle was a high energy, creative person who created a secure and fun home for her family. She loved to sew, garden, square and round dance, travel and cook; especially pies. She was the President of PTA at the three schools that her daughter attended: Bayles Elementary, J.L. Long Junior High and Woodrow Wilson High School, all in Dallas, TX.

After Paul retired at the age of 58, he and Novelle travelled extensively in their travel trailer, traveling across the U.S. and Canada. They spent summers out of the Texas heat by heading to Ruidoso, NM where they camped, squared danced and enjoyed the outdoors, especially watching hummingbirds.

Novelle will be remembered by all that knew her as strong, funny, gregarious, welcoming and gracious.

Internment will at the DFW National Cemetery, Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 10:15 am. In lieu of flowers, you may send a donation to the Salvation Army or the charity of your choice.
