Ollen Forbes

Ollen Forbes was born on February 21, 1946, in McCauley, Texas to Walter and Eddie Forbes. He passed away on February 3, 2023.

Ollen served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army from 1967-1972. Shortly after his enlistment he began working for Yellow Freight Shipping where he worked until his retirement at the age of 52.

Ollen is preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Eddie Forbes, His wife: Judy Forbes, his siblings: Michael Forbes, Jerry Forbes, Hearthu Pruitt, Jessie Nelms, Peggy Pate and Audrey McBride.

Ollen is survived by his wife Glenda Forbes, His children: Calleene McCurdy (and husband Paul McCurdy), Timothy Forbes, Scott Forbes (and wife Candie Forbes), David English (and wife Lara English)his 11 grandchildren Amber Hamilton (and husband Cole Hamilton), Breanna Anderson (husband Dean Anderson), Caitlynn Forbes, Alyssa Bruce (husband Nick Bruce), Tyler Forbes, Christian Forbes, Mallory Forbes, Ashleigh Pendleton, Angel Davis, Colby Forbes and Lexi Davis, and his 5 great grandchildren, Adalee Ludwig, Jax Hamilton, Ryder Bruce, Axel Bruce and Jett Hamilton.

Ollen was known for his generosity, kindness, and humor. He loved God, his family, friends, and country. He was an avid gun collector, knife maker and painter. He sparked joy and touched the hearts of many people throughout his life and never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, hunting, painting, and relaxing on the porch watching the deer and sunsets.
