BELT, JR., P. M. a resident of Mesquite since 1953, born August 19,1929, in Rowlett, TX., passed away June 29, 2003. He retired from the Post Office in Mesquite in 1990 after 35 years.He was a long-time member of the Mesquite Church of Christ and served as a Deacon, Elder, Teacher & Song Leader.P. M. loved to sing with family and friends and sang with several Gospel Quartets earlier in his life.His hobbies included gardening, visiting with family & friends, and watching his grandchildren perform in music & sports.P.M. & his wife Sue, were married for 51 years. Preceded in death by parents, Pierce & Janie Belt; sisters, Beryl Blanton, Norma Sumner; brother, Bill Sumner. Survived by wife, Sue Belt; sons, David & wife, Debbie Belt; Gary & wife, Becky Belt, Larry & wife Penny Belt; grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan, James, Leslie, Kevin, Michael, LeShae, Ty, & Peyton; sisters, Freda Berry, Juanita Berry, Jane & husband Tom White; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and loving friends. Services will be 2:00PM Wednesday July 2, 2003 at the Mesquite Church of Christ, 400 W. Davis, Mesquite, TX., with Ken Hope, Walter Buchanan, & Shannon Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Oaks Memorial Park in Mesquite. Family will receive friends at the New Hope Funeral Home Tuesday evening July 1, 2003, from 6:00PM-8:00PM.
