Listen to Obituary

Patricia Ruth Williams Kettle, 90, of Mesquite, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026. She was born on May 17, 1936, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, to Chester and Velma Barnes.

Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a woman who loved her family and friends deeply and found so much joy in the time she spent with them.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Velma Barnes; her brother, Rodney Barnes; her first husband, Virgil Williams; her second husband, Raymond A. Kettle; and her beloved daughter, Diana Ray.

She is survived by her step-daughter, Margaret Sullivan and husband Edward; her step-son, Tom Kettle and wife Peggy; step-daughter, Sandi Kettle Roche; son-in-law, Lynn Ray; and her grandchildren, Melissa Ray, Danny Sullivan and wife Stephanie, Amanda Bitner and husband Nathan, Taylor Kettle and wife Kristen, and Addyson Mouser and husband Cory, amongst many other grandchildren.

She was a proud great-grandmother to Morgan, Payton, and Jordyn Sullivan; Brooklyn and Paisley Bitner; Nora and Jackson Kettle; Marley Mouser, and many other great-grandchildren.

Patricia was a longtime member of Sunnyvale First Baptist Church and proudly held membership in the Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years. Her faith, family, friends, and traditions were important parts of her life.

She loved to travel and enjoyed making memories wherever she went, but perhaps nothing brought her greater happiness than her family and friends. Her great-grandchildren were truly the "ray of sunshine on a rainy day." She cherished every moment with them and took great pride in watching her family grow.

Patricia also had a flair for life. She believed in dressing to impress for every occasion-and there was always a pin for every event! She carried herself with style, personality, and a determination that was uniquely her own. True to that independent spirit, Patricia drove until she was 90 years old.

Patricia leaves behind a lifetime of memories, traditions, laughter, and love that will continue through the family she treasured so dearly. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Her family and friends were her greatest joy, and her love will remain their greatest gift.
