Philip Samuel, 70, of Sunnyvale, TX, was taken to be with his Heavenly Father on January 24, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Lizy Philip, his two children, Alwin and Lydia, and daughter-in-law, Jeanu.

Philip was born on October 1, 1952 to the late Mr. and Mrs. K. S. Philip, Kavalackal House, Thiruvalla, India. He is one of seven siblings. He is preceded by Leelamamma, and survived by Kunjumolammama, Babumamma, Rajuchayan, Ammalammama, and Babymamma.

He graduated with a degree in Economics at Mar Thoma College Thiruvilla in 1974 and later completed a Masters in Commerce at Kanpur University. He worked as a banker at Syndicate Bank in Delhi for 15 years.

Philip married Lizy in 1983 and had Alwin in 1985. He moved to the US in 1993 to New Jersey, and in 1996, he and Lizy settled in Texas where they had Lydia in 1997. He worked as a Supervisor at the United States Post Office until his retirement in 2016. He spent his time serving his family, church, and community. He led by example - walking in faith, living humbly, and loving others generously.

Philip was a very active, dedicated, and beloved member of St. Paul’s Mar Thoma Church since 1996. His faith in Jesus, servant heart, thoughtfulness, sense of humor, and genuine smile have left a deep and lasting impression on our lives. He was a steadfast presence and a light for all who knew him, and his legacy will forever be in our hearts.
