Randy Cooper, age 69, passed away on January 26, 2022 at his lovely residence that he shared with his adoring wife, Ruby Cooper. Randy had fought a long and hard battle with cancer since 2019, but the Lord had called upon his name and let him eternally rest peacefully.

Randy was born on October 11, 1952 to the late Paul and Cleora Cooper of Pittsburg, Texas and was the second youngest of four rowdy brothers. Randy married Ruby Daphine Sturdivant in 1972 at The Church of Christ in Crandall, TX and from this union three children are survived to this day. Early in his life Randy decided to join the Air Force (1972-1974) and then later joined the Navy (1976-1994). He thrived while he served the open seas until 1994, when he retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He received honors which included Navy Commendation and Navy Achievement medals.  He then went into the teaching profession with Troops to Teachers. When he wasn’t teaching or spending time with his family, he coached many sports teams at Seagoville High School and will always be remembered by his past students, players, coaches, and colleagues.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Ruby Cooper; Daughters Audrey Torres and Amy Zbylut; Son Jason Cooper; Grandchildren Samantha Bruning, Jenna Cooper, Sabrina Cooper, Josh Stevens, Jack Stevens, Johnathan Cooper, Zane Zbylut, Sophia Torres, and Savannah Torres; Great-grandchildren Erin Nava, Ella Nava, and Alice Nava.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Cooper, Timm Zbylut, Joshua Stevens, Jackson Stevens, Anthony Nava and Kenneth Bond.

The Path I Fall Upon ~Amy Zbylut

As I journey through the darkness, I see gleams of light falling upon the path in front of me.
Sometimes the light appears as hazy angelic particles that lead me through the drops of sadness that fall upon the path.
Sometimes the light turns into distant shadows and I fall upon the path, searching for a way to climb out of the pit of despair.
As I first reach into the darkness above me, I find nothing but more darkness.  As I continue to reach into the darkness above me, I find branches in the forms of arms that pull me back upon the path that I had once fallen upon and gleams of light once again can be seen.
I find comfort in knowing that no matter how dark the path is and no matter how many times I fall upon it, perseverance, arms of those who care for me, and faith will always help me continue to see the light.

Find refuge in the arms of those who care for you and in your faith, because they will always lead you to the light.
