Raydene Clark

August 4, 1935 — September 12, 2021

Raydene Clark of Mesquite, Texas passed away on September 12, 2021 at the age of 86.  Raydene was born on August 4, 1935 in Seagoville, Texas to John Clarence Malone and Bernice Lee Whitman.

When Raydene finished High School, she started her career and went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company on June 8, 1953.  She was a dedicated employee for over 34 years. When she was offered early retirement and a year’s salary at the age of 55 she asked, “Daddy, should I take it”?  Daddy said, “I’d take it and run with it”.  At that time, she started receiving her pension and the excellent benefits throughout her lifetime.  Raydene’s boss said, “She was the fastest and the most accurate typist I had ever known, and she made an excellent secretary”.

Raydene loved working in the yard and playing the game of chicken-foot.  Her main interest was spoiling her two nephews, Kent and Keith Erdman; then the Great Nephews came along, Shane and Tanner Erdman.  She continued that family tradition. She became a mother to Shane when Shane’s mother (Lisa) died in an accident when he was four months old.

Raydene was a good sister to Ann Ell who was 1 year and 20 days younger.  They were treated like twins and dressed alike.  Raydene, being the older one always got to open and divide the sack of candy.

Raydene is predeceased by her husband, Bobby Earl Clark and her parents, John and Bernice Malone.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister Ann Ell Johnson and husband Joe; her Nephews, Alan Kent Erdman and John Keith Erdman and his wife Wendy; Great Nephews, Shane Allan Erdman and John Tanner Erdman; and numerous friends.
