Rebecca "Becky" Woods, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on October 16, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on July 9, 1953, in Houston, Texas, Becky lived a fulfilling life, ultimately making her home in Forney, Texas. After a short time working in the food service industry as a waitress after high school, Becky began working in the insurance industry where she would eventually retire after a long career due to deteriorating health in 2024.

Becky found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a special affinity for potted and hanging plants, brightening her home's front walkway and porch. She particularly loved all things adorned with sunflowers. Becky enjoyed watching firework shows every year on New Years and the 4th of July with her Husband at the community park in Forney after many years of watching firework shows at Rangers baseball games. Her love for animals was reflected in her caring nature towards the many pets that lived at the Woods' household over the years; most recently her cherished dog, Zoey. Above all, her greatest pride and joy was her family, especially her grandson, Hudson Woods. She often attended Hudson's many athletic and school events.

Becky is survived by her devoted husband, Jimmie Woods, and their son, Chris Woods, along with daughter-in-law Raven Woods and grandson Hudson Woods. She leaves behind her two younger brothers Joe Matej and Vince Matej; sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, along with several nieces and nephews who will forever cherish their memories of her warmth and kindness. Becky was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Matej and Peggy Matej; older brother Stephen Matej; and brother-in-law Walter Wilkes.

A memorial service celebrating Becky's life will be held on October 29, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation occurring at 1:00 pm prior to the service. Family and friends are invited to come together in her honor, sharing stories and laughter as they remember the life and spirit of Becky Woods.
