Regina Kaye Garrett was born on December 5, 1970, to the parents of Eddie Struggs, Jr. and Stella Louise Struggs. She grew up in Ellis County and resided in Ennis, Texas.
Regina was loved by all who knew her. She had a special gift for lighting up a room and bringing joy to everyone around her. There seemed to be no limit to "Gina K's" generosity toward her family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched. She gave freely of herself and always put others before herself. Above all, Regina showed unconditional love to everyone, and her kindness, warmth, and compassion.
Regina attended schools in the Ennis Independent School District and cherished the friendships and memories she made throughout her school years. Regina loved good food, especially her mother's home-cooked meals, which always brought her comfort and joy. Prior to her passing, Regina was a devoted wife, loving mother, trusted confidant, and steadfast source of strength for her family. Her wisdom, compassion, and unwavering support touched the lives of all who knew her.
During her early childhood, Regina attended William B. Travis Elementary School in Ennis, Texas. From a young age, she had a gift for bringing smiles to the faces of those around her. Regina enjoyed making people laugh and uplifting others with her kind words and caring spirit. Her warm personality, compassionate heart, and ability to encourage others left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
On October 9, 2026, God sovereignly called Regina Kaye Garrett to her eternal home in Glory. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Left to honor and cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Melvin Garrett, Jr.; her beloved son, Melvin Garrett, III; her mother, Stella Louise Garrett-Struggs; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Melvin Garrett, Sr. and Grace Garrett; her brother, Derrick Green; her aunts, Helen Williams, Carolyn Cox, Janiece Barnes, Katherine Evans, Lillie White, and Lorrian Spencer; and her uncles, Charles Garrett, Randy (Carolyn) Garrett, and Raymond Struggs. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who will miss her deeply and treasure her memory always.
Preceding her in death are her son, Ethan Allen Garrett; father, Eddie Struggs, Jr.; grandparents, M.L. Garrett and Mary Garrett.
Regina Garrett was indeed a centralized part of our heart. Her fond memories will continue to live within us all until we meet again in Heaven.
