Rhetta Chavez, born August 9, 1969, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on January 24, 2026.

Rhetta was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Raymond and Charlene Pendegrass, who meant the world to her and remained forever close to her heart.

Rhetta was the heart of her family - a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother. She leaves behind her husband and best friend, Castulo "Lin" Chavez, and their four daughters, Kayla Calzada, Kimberley Hampton, Miranda Chavez, and Marcella Chavez, who were the pride and joy of her life. She is also survived by her brother, Darrin Pendergrass; her treasured grandchildren, Javin Calzada, Amayah Leos, Aliyah Pearson, Adrian Pearson, and Kairo Pearson; her daughter in law, Kendra Hampton and her son-in-law, Tristan Pearson; and her beloved dogs, Cash, Stella, Willow, Bruno, Mac, and Charlie, who brought her constant comfort, companionship, and joy.

Rhetta built a successful career as an Account Executive Officer in the Bond & Specialty Insurance department at Travelers Insurance, where she was known not only for her professionalism and dedication but also for the genuine kindness and care she showed to everyone she worked with.

Family was everything to Rhetta. She found her greatest happiness at home, especially dancing with her husband and laughing through spirited games of crazy bee rummy. She loved getting lost in a good book and had a special gift for cooking meals that brought everyone together, filling her home with comfort, laughter, and love.

Rhetta had a deep love for country music, finding peace and connection in songs that spoke to her heart. She created countless memories with her family, always putting them first and making sure they felt deeply loved. As a grandmother, she embraced her role wholeheartedly, showering her grandchildren with affection, patience, and joy.

Rhetta Chavez will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Her love, warmth, and gentle strength will live on through her family and the many lives she touched.
