Richard Loyd Anderson, 80, of Garland, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, after an extended hospital stay. Born on January 12, 1945, in Terrell, Texas, to George and Bobby Jean. He, along with siblings George, Stanley, & Becky graduated from Forney High School. He and his wife Paula remained in Forney for 31 years.

Richard was a proud veteran of the US Army and led a fulfilling life as a beloved family man and passionate sports fan.

Richard had a special place in his heart for his family. He loved spending time with his children, Stan and Jennifer; daughter-in-law, Amy; and son-in-law, Steve. He was a devoted grandfather to Stephen, Gabriel, Madison, Aiden, and Evan, who brought him immense joy.

A true sports enthusiast, Richard was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, often cheering from home as he enjoyed watching games every Sunday. His love for sports was matched only by his love for family gatherings, where memories were made with an extended family of in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Richard will be dearly missed by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to those he cared for most.
